FEAR & ITS POWER OVER YOU!
The root of all anxiety is fear…and apprehension, leading to panic, brain fog, exhaustion, and mental paralysis. In certain cases, depression and CFS. Have you ever noticed its rapid stealthy progression? The instinctive fight/flight response immediately kicks into 5th gear.
Freeze in your tracks immediately. Apply “P” for pause (not for Parking). The more powerful force is in your mind, which should arrest your flow of emotions. If you don’t take conscientious control over them, you deplete your mental resistance and your physical energy follows suit. The easy flight mode can easily become your instinctive reaction to any problem you encounter, boxing you in. A defeatist attitude for anyone who chooses to confront you. You become predictable, which is not at all strategic.
Get wiser by defying the provocation with mental potential and power. Process the stimulus, and develop a counter-offensive strategy taking the bull by the horns. Once you control its head, it will agitate noisily displaying its trapping. It will project you into a controlling position while you cleverly disarm your opponent.
Here’s an example: Mr. A has an aggressive neighbor impulsively infringing on his properties (car and entrance) causing damage — he rejects him as his neighbor. Mr. A issues legal warnings that upscale the aggressions, and subsequently files reports for every incident with pictures and evidence of the warning. After investigation and statements by both parties, the Police have to convene a meeting with both parties to forward their conclusions to the Court. Offended repeatedly, Mr. A eventually rejects the idea in his mind. But his solicitor thinks he persuades him since it is procedural. The slow verdicts over previous aggressions are Mr. A’s contention. The Police call him and fix the date. He promptly confirms without hesitation. His heart and mind race with a mixture of anger and fear over Mr. B’s usual cleverly woven counter-accusations to compound and delay the case.
He takes a break to devise a strategy to reverse the tirade of emotions back unto Mr. B. At the appointed hour, he sends a list of all his criminal litigations against Mr. B to the officer in charge, followed with a voicemail to excuse himself for being summarily summoned to court for the hearing of the 1st case! Knowing perfectly well the stress and anxiety he put Mr. B through to fabricate counter-accusations and to sit waiting impatiently for his presence. The Police acknowledge Mr. A’s tangible excuse, close the file with their conclusions and his list as evidence (in his favor), and send it to the appointed judge He laughed when he heard the details of Mr. B’s fury recounted to him later. Conclusion? Through this paradigm shift, the Police were compelled to acknowledge his rights, issued Mr. B a serious warning against any future incident, and Mr. A scored successfully.
Anxiety leads to panic, poor judgment, and physiological damage. Usually, the precious Spleen is the first organ to receive the blow, and then the kidneys, weakening both organs. Such repetition inevitably causes unwarranted damage. Why harm oneself when one has the innate capacity to change course and apply his Brain Power rather than being overpowered by fear? It is called Reverse Psychology.
If fear were not an occultic weapon with a destructive chain of emotions and consequences, the Bible would never have repeatedly admonished us not to be afraid! The term “fear not” is stated 365 times in the Bible, reminding us ironically, each day of the year! In Matthew 10:26–33- Jesus repeats it 3 times! Here are but a few quotes:
*“For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not FEAR; I will help you.”
*“Do not be FRIGHTENED, & do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
*“The FEAR of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.”
Just consider its following impact on your body:
MENTALLY: Fear is the root cause of nearly all clinical mental health problems and anxiety disorders. It is associated with depression, suicide, PTSD, and psychosis. It causes damage to certain parts of the brain (hippocampus), and impairs the formation of long-term memory. It interrupts the regulation of emotions and the perception of non-verbal cues. It impacts the decision-making process, intensifying susceptibility to extreme emotions and impulsive reactions.
PHYSICALLY. Fear causes accelerated /difficulty in breathing, increased heart rate, extreme fatigue, and sleep deprivation. An overflow of stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline are released. It causes gastrointestinal damage such as ulcers and IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), & decreases fertility. The blood flow changes course, moving away from the heart into the limbs for prompt confrontation or flight. This complex eruption of physical reactions weakens the heart, causes cardiovascular damage, depletes the immune system, accelerates aging, and causes premature death.
With these damaging consequences to your mind and body, nothing good comes out of it. No one can take charge but you through your mind. If it is done in faith and conviction, you are constructively developing your mental prowess and shielding your body from unnecessary erosion. You will undoubtedly become more resilient over time, looking back with humor at your first experience.
